Garajonay is a cultural space where some of the largest sanctuaries of the ancient inhabitants of La Gomera are preserved.
Garajonay is a very small National Park, with a surface area of less than 4,000 hectares. It is surrounded by other protected natural areas, but it also leaves out important areas of laurel forest of extraordinary value. Its expansion could guarantee the conservation of the splendid La Gomera forest massif.
